The patented design of the Brake-fast Dog Food Bowl prevents your dog from bolting down his food. The simple obstructions molded into the shape of the bowl makes the dog slow down to eat, helping reduce the risk of Gastric Dilatation-Volvulus (GDV or bloat). In addition, slower eating makes the dog feel more full and reduces instances of choking or coughing up food and the dog "re-eating."

We prefer the heavy-duty diecast aluminum version of the Brake-fast Dog Food Bowl to the plastic ones for a variety of reasons, and have therefore chosen to carry only the metal bowls.
