Vertex Canine Essentials is an excellent daily-use supplement that can increase energy, endurance, muscle growth, heat tolerance, and recovery time. It is specifically designed to provide nutritional support for working and performance dogs, but it is also a highly digestable and palatable source of calories for aging or convalescing dogs.
Vertex uses premium, predigested meat, whey, and egg proteins to ensure unequalled taste and nearly 100% digestibility and absorption. Combined with pharmaceutical-grade amino acids, you can expect better performance from your dog, improved stamina, and less physical discomfort after hard workouts. Vertex also uses powerful anti-oxidants (Vitamins C and E) to help protect your dog from free radicals that injure the body and can cause sickness or disease. This supplement also provides a food-grade complex carbohydrate source and contains pharmaceutical-grade glucosamine, chondroitin sulfate, and MSM.
Vertex is great for:
- Canine athletes (agility, flyball, hunting, schutzhund, racing, weight pulling, etc.)
- Pregnant or lactating females
- Finicky eaters (add water to make Vertex into an irresistible gravy)
- Dogs recovering from illness or surgery

Using Power Boost vs. Vertex: Many canine trainers use Vertex on a daily basis and then switch over to Power Boost during a competition and during exercise in hot and/or humid weather. Power Boost has many of the same great nutrients of Vertex—creatine, glutamine, lactic acid buffers, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and ginseng—but Vertex has three times the protein and fat of Power Boost. In addition, Power Boost is intended to be used before, during, and after exercise; whereas Vertex is a daily supplement. When combined, the two products produce an amazing result!

At Canine Performance Nutrition, products are made 100% from ingredients produced in the USA. CPN has never contracted out any mixing, blending, or packaging of their products. Every bag of every ingredient is inspected and opened in their manufacturing plant—nothing comes from foreign sources. CPN blends their products using absolutely no heat or moisture. Once the products are blended, they are quickly packaged and sealed to insure freshness.
CPN is a USDA inspected and approved for export to the European Union. What does that mean? In one word it means accountability. Every raw material from animal origin is certified to be USDA inspected and approved for EU export. For years, the EU was impossible to export to because of their requirements, so pet food companies set up manufacturing plants in Europe. Any company that makes pet nutrition products that isn't USDA inspected and approved should be questioned as to why.
If you take a look at canine nutritional products that have really made an impact in the last 20 years, you'll find that the majority were pioneered in the human sports nutrition field. Creatine, Glucosamine-Chondroitin, Anderostione, free-form Amino Acids, and Omega fatty acids are just a few of the products that had their origin in human sports nutrition. CPN is a company that got it's start by creating these same types of products for dogs. Much of the research that was used to develop these products was done first with dogs in the lab. That is part of the reason why these same products have been so successful with dogs!
