These shoes are manufactured in U.K. Men's sizes. We have created a conversion chart to help you select a pair of shoes, but these are only guidelines—if you go into a shoe store and try on size 9 shoes made by five different companies, each pair will fit a bit differently.

Please note that the Roclite 312 GTX generally runs 1/2 size smaller than other styles of Inov-8s. We suggest that you order 1/2 size up from your normal shoe size. So, for example, if you normally wear a U.S. Women's size 6, we suggest ordering a U.S. Men's 5 / Women's 6.5 in the Roclite 312 GTX.

Trying On Your New Shoes
Please use common sense when trying on the shoes to check for proper fit; wear socks and wear the shoes only indoors. Here are some things to consider to make sure you have selected the proper size:

  • Feet can change shape and size during the day and under different conditions. Therefore, we recommend that you try on your new shoes when your feet are their largest, at the end of the day or after exercise. 
  • When shoes contact the ground during walking or running, your feet get longer. You need to allow approximately 3/8" to 1/2" between your longest toe and the end of the shoe.
  • Be sure to wear the socks that you plan on wearing when you are using your new shoes.

If the Shoes Don't Fit
If you are not happy with the shoes or the shoes do not fit, we will happily accept a return or exchange within 30 days after purchase. The shoes must be in as-new condition and in the original box. For complete instructions on how to make a return or exchange, see our Return & Replacement Policy.

If you live in the U.S. and you are exchanging the shoes for a different style or size, Clean Run will ship you a replacement pair of shoes free of charge. The customer is responsible for postage to return the original pair of shoes to Clean Run.

Cleaning GORE-TEX Footwear
Clean the exterior with a cloth or brush and lukewarm water. Shake out sand, gravel, and dirt from inside the footwear. Remove and shake out the foot bed if applicable. Dry naturally at moderate temperatures. Avoid direct heat. Convection-style boot driers work well.

Inov-8 believes in natural running. When running barefoot (or naturally), the foot will instinctively land on the forefoot rather than the heel. This forefoot landing causes less impact than heel striking and has been associated with reduced injury and increased speed and efficiency. Most people can make the transition to a more natural running style by gradually reducing the amount of cushioning in their shoes over time. Inov-8 offers a range of cushioning and differential (the difference in height between the heel and forefoot), named Shoc-Zone, so that you can choose the most appropriate shoe for you. All Inov-8 footwear is designed for a neutral stride. Because your heel is always lower to the ground during the running cycle, pronating and supinating are not as problematic as with other brands of trail/running shoes.

The waterproof Roclite 312 GTX is the same shoe as the Women's Roclite 275 GTX except that the 312 is built on a unisex "last" for men or women. There is slightly more room in the heel of the 312 GTX than the 275 GTX, since men tend to have wider heels than women. The 312 GTX not only offers exceptional comfort and stability, the excellent underfoot cushioning provides great shock absorption even on hard, compacted surfaces. With a roomy forefoot, the 312 GTX fits medium to wide feet and people with low to medium arches. The profile of the Roclite is ideal for people who don't want a shoe that's too high on the ankle bone, and you'll find that the toe box is deep and comfortable. The rugged outsole provides good grip on dry, muddy, and even snowy conditions. The GORE-TEX membrane prevents water from seeping in, but is also very breathable. Inov-8's patent-pending fascia-band adds to the propulsion efficiency of the running cycle by mimicking the fascia tendon, while the patent-pending meta-shank aligns with the metatarsals of the foot and allows the foot move the way nature designed.
