Inov-8 believes in natural running. When running barefoot (or naturally), the foot will instinctively land on the forefoot rather than the heel. This forefoot landing causes less impact than heel striking and has been associated with reduced injury and increased speed and efficiency. Most people can make the transition to a more natural running style by gradually reducing the amount of cushioning in their shoes over time. Inov-8 offers a range of cushioning and differential (the difference in height between the heel and forefoot), named Shoc-Zone, so that you can choose the most appropriate shoe for you. All Inov-8 footwear is designed for a neutral stride. Because your heel is always lower to the ground during the running cycle, pronating and supinating are not as problematic as with other brands of trail/running shoes.
The Trailroc 245 offers a blend of performance, cushioning, and underfoot protection. This shoe features Met-Cradle Lacing, which helps keep the upper snug on your foot and holds your foot securely to the mid/outsole. The outsole is made from three rubber compounds—a soft rubber on the toe and arch areas for improved grip, an endurance rubber spanning from the heel to the metatarsals for durability, and a hard rubber on the medial and lateral forefoot for improved wear rate. This Tri-C technology provide a more durable outsole with maximum grip on either dry or loose ground.
