The Sportz-Vibe is a lightweight and portable massage jacket for dogs that is designed to increase circulation in your dog's back and hips. This increase in blood flow makes tendons and ligaments more elastic and helps bring oxygen and nutrients to the area. It also helps to reduce inflammation by stimulating the lymphatic system to remove toxins. This technology has been used in horse blankets for a number of years.

Use the Sportz-Vibe Massage Jacket as part of your warm-up routine for canine performance activities to get your dog's muscles ready to go and reduce the risk of injury, and use it as part of your cool-down routine to aid in recovery and help prevent soreness or stiffness after activity. Use with your retired dogs who may be suffering from back problems or hip conditions to make them more comfortable.

Many dogs start looking forward to their massage jacket time and will actually come present themselves to remind you!

Benefits:

  • Reduces muscle pain
  • Improves blood supply to tissue
  • Reduces inflammation
  • Relaxes muscles

How It Works

The Sportz-Vibe Massage Therapy Jacket comes with two removable massage panels that vibrate alternately on either side of the dog's back to stimulate circulation. The rug automatically switches off after 10 minutes and can be used up to 3 times a day. The XS, Small, and Medium jackets come with a 2 motor rechargeable battery and the Large and XL jackets come with a 4 motor rechargeable battery. A universal charger is also included. The battery can be recharged in 2 hours. You can remove the electronics from the jacket and use it simply for warmth, if desired.

Packaging: The Sportz-Vibe Massage Therapy Jacket includes the jacket, 2 massage panels, a rechargeable battery, a universal charger, and a storage bag.

What size jacket does your dog need? Click on the Sizing tab above for instructions on how to measure your dog and choose the appropriate size.

How to Measure Your Dog: Be sure that your dog is standing squarely, with head up, and is looking straight ahead. Following the contour of the dog's back closely, measure from the base of his neck (the point where the neck joins the body) to the base of his tail (the point where the tail joins the body). This is X in the diagram.

Then take a measurement at Y as shown in the diagram.

Fitting Your Jacket: Adjust both "surcingles" (the buckled straps on the belly) to make the blanket fit snugly without being too tight.

"Merry is an 11 year old border collie with slightly displaced arthritic hip and leg/back injuries caused by extended chase activities. This changed her bouncy, superfit athletic character to a stiff, wary and nervous dog who struggled to rise and refused to climb slopes or stairs. Veterinary advice was to prescribe two types of painkilling drugs to enable her to carry out physio exercises but I wanted a less harsh way of achieving this. Since using the massage coat twice a day (sometimes three) Merry has been comfortable enough to carry out quite difficult physio training using each leg independently and you can physically feel the change in her back muscles. I believe this has been a turning point in her recovery and when she jumped up on me the other day I was absolutely delighted by this naughty behaviour!! Thank you so much for giving me back my lively, bossy dog!"  —Gail & Merry

"Because of their high drive and intense nature the majority of our search and rescue handlers initially thought that these rugs would not work well for our dogs. Most of the handlers assumed the dogs would attempt to pull the rugs off and they would not be useful. However, we have found quite the contrary. All of the dogs that have tried them clearly enjoy them and have found them to be of great value for recovery after exercise and training. Our dogs spend many hours on large, challenging and unstable rubble, building searches, wilderness searching, and wide area searches. Along with the training, many of us also hike and run with our dogs. We have found that the application of the rug following training or exercise has indeed brought great benefits to our dogs’ mental and physical well-being. Most of them thoroughly enjoy them and seem to have more energy and less stiffness after a session with the rug. Overall, the rugs have been a great addition to the recovery and well-being of our dogs."  —Utah Task Force 1 K9 Search and Rescue

"We are absolutely convinced that the dogs enjoy the massage, and that it helps them to work for longer, more effectively and more comfortably"  —Canine Search and Rescue Unit, Sweden

"Laddie enjoyed his Sportz Vibe rug immensely. He suffered from arthritis particularly in his elbows and hips. I could see he got great relief when the rug was placed on him. Every time I put the rug on he would immediately go for a nap and appeared very relaxed."  —Alanna Sedgwick, USA

"Our dog had a TPLO for cranial cruciate problems and we received the Sportz Vibe rug about 10 days post op. Whilst she'd done quite a bit of recovery at that time, we were having a few problems still getting her to do her rehab due to stiffness and probably discomfort too. I really think the Sportz vibe made a difference to us being able to rehab her after that though as her rehab became easier and her ROM picked up noticeably."  —Eamon Koh MRCVS, Australia

"I used the Sportz vibe dog rug on my elderly Labrador this winter. The first thing I noticed was how much she loved having it on. I felt she was less stiff this winter which made her more active and a lot brighter in herself."  —Caroline Norris, Ireland

"I used the Sportz Vibe rug on a German Sheppard that typically suffers with his hips in the winter months. I used the rug four times a week. I noticed how much he loved wearing it. We noticed a big difference in him this winter. He was livelier and moved better. It definitely made a difference and we were just amazed how excited he gets when we put it on him."  —Sean McNamara, Ireland
