Newest Product Reviews for Ready Treat V2.0 Radio-Controlled Remote Treat Dispenser

Works Great
I bought one of these 5 years ago and it stopped working. But then I found the directions for resetting the frequency and that fixed the problem. So, I bought a second. Both are working great. I like that they are small and easy to take to class. I also like that I can put any kind of treat in them which you can't in the Manners Minder. That is especially important for my picky small dogs or when I need to dispense high quality treats for harder behaviors like independent weaves. The only problem is you have to replace the treat every time but that aspect is offset by the ability to use any kind of treat in them. I wipe out the slobber and crumbs after every training session and that has kept it pretty clean and working well.

Only works sporadically
Love the concept. Small. I have the Manners Minder too but love this one because it is more inconspicuous. Great for contacts, retrieves weaves and more. Problem is it only works sporadically. Just when I want to count on it, it stops working. No rhyme or reason. Then later it starts working again. I’ve had it for over a year and have had this problem almost from the beginning. But just when I think I’ll complain to Clean Run, it starts working again. Would buy another but I’m afraid to send good money after bad. Funny thing is my obedience instructor has one and says hers works perfectly. Very frustrating. Would love to be able to count on it.

Very fragile and finicky about the types of treats you can use
So I bought this at the cluster, and I've had it for almost a year. I'm not super happy with the quality of it. First it didn't have some parts, so I had to return it. Then the second one I got worked without issues for a few solid months and it was great, until the door started sticking. The manual tells you that you can't use greasy treats. I used mostly cut up cheese sticks, sometimes I would put turkey pepperoni in there, which is not very greasy and I cleaned it after each use. But it still got very sticky. I had to take it apart and clean the grease out of the door hinges, clean the whole thing, and then it worked again, but it was still really sticky and finicky. Then I left it out in the rain for like 5 minutes. I was working outside, forgot about it and left it out there. Then it started to rain and the minute I realized it was raining I brought it back in. It worked for about another month off and on, and now it's dead. Dead remote. It's honestly not worth the price. You're probably better off buying the Treat and Train for this type of stuff. It's quicker to reinforce with it as well.
Comment from Clean Run We're sorry that you had difficulty with your Ready Treat. Customer service is going to reach out to you since there is a warranty on the product. The Treat & Train and the Ready Treat are designed for different purposes. We highly recommend taking a look at the video we include with the product description about using the RT vs. the T&T. We'll also be adding an article on the subject.

Purchased Jan 2018 - Working Fine - no issues
Great help especially when training alone to keep dog focused on his job while I handle with distance from the reward. My Clumber mushed the RT many times with no ill affects. like the small size and easy to pack. often put away for months to come out later for refreshers as needed. Still working today!

Irritatingly Disappointing
After being pawed by my dog once, the Ready Treat jammed. No way to fix it. $50+ down the drain

Excellent customer service Clean Run
I would like to write a second review regarding the ready treat dispenser. Clean Run has excellent customer service! After my review about the ready treat not working, they immediately shipped me a replacement with a return label for me to return the defective machine I had. I truly thought I was out the money and not having the device which I really need for training. I was able to pair the new device and it is working great. I want to sincerely thank Clean Run! Good customer service is hard to find these days and it truly makes a difference for this customer! I have ordered each of my dogs a harness from them and referred at least 3 people that have also ordered a harness. I will definitely spread the good word. Many thanks Clean Run!!!

Very disappointed
Had this 13 months and used maybe 5 times. I talked to the owner who manufactures this machine. I was 1 month out of warranty and he would not budge with replacing my machine. Extremely disappointed as I really need this for training. My agility coach has had the same problem with hers not working
Comment from Clean Run I'm sorry you have had a problem. With any electronic device, we do get some duds, which is why there's a 1-year warranty. It's always best to contact us first rather than the manufacturer. Customer service will email you directly about getting you a replacement unit.

Failed Early
You have to take the batteries out when you put it away otherwise they just go flat so easily. I had mine nicely packed and put away (cleaned) after last use with batteries removed and now I can't get it to pair up - hardly used it and now it is a doorstop.
Comment from Clean Run We're very sorry that you're having a problem with your Ready Treat. What you're describing is not a problem that we have seen before. We always keep the batteries in for the ones we use here in the training center. And the pairing problem definitely indicates there is some type of problem with the unit. Customer service will contact you about replacing it. Whenever you have a problem with a product, just email us and we'll be happy to help.

Update: Fantastic Customer Service: Love it but hate the pairing
I absolutely love this device; they are an important part of my training. I typically will use two at the same time (one remote and unit has a little red dot on it to tell the units apart). I have a Treat & Train, but I have tiny dogs which means tiny treats. The Treat & Train dispenses too many at once. I have two of these. A couple of years ago, I had a problem with one of the remotes; it didn't pair with the unit. Clip and Go was very fast in their response and sent me a new unit. Wow! Fast forward to the present. I once again had a problem pairing one of the remotes. I tried "new" batteries I keep on hand. That did not work. Since this was the second time I had the problem, I wrote a review here. I was immediately contacted by the staff to trouble shoot the device, They told me that if we could not get the unit to work, they would send me a new unit. WOW!!!! I decided that I would give the unit one more shot, so I bought new batteries at the store and tried to pair the remote again. Success!!! The moral: get new batteries at the store first. I know the batteries were "new" but apparently not new enough. Thank you Clean Run for standing behind your products.
Comment from Clean Run Glad everything is working now!
