The Baskerville Ultra is the ultimate muzzle. Every aspect of this muzzle's design has been created to combine maximum safety with maximum comfort for the dog. It took Dr. Roger Mugford (Britain's leading animal behaviorist and a pioneer in behavioral therapy) over four years to develop the Baskerville Ultra, and the result is a huge step forward for muzzles.
This muzzle offers a flexible fit even for dogs with wide noses. The muzzle basket can even be heat shaped for a tailored fit on the dog. It also allows the dog to pant and drink comfortably, and take treats so that you can reward your dog while he's wearing it, which is essential during behavior modification training programs.
The Baskerville Ultra Muzzle has been updated to further improve ease of use and dog comfort. The neck strap now features a clip connection to aid quick fitting and removal, with an optional lock for extra peace of mind. The headstrap has also been re-designed for easier fitting. And with no metal work on the latest Ultra design, the muzzle is lighter and even more comfortable for the dog.
What size muzzle does your dog need? Click on the Sizing tab above for instructions on how to measure your dog and choose the appropriate size.
Using a flexible tape measure, take the following measurements:
- Width: Measure all the way around the widest part of your dog's muzzle (usually about 1/2" below his eyes) with his mouth closed.
- Length: Measure along the top of your dog's nose from the tip of his nose to just below his eyes.
You should select a muzzle based on your particular dog's measurements. The breeds listed are only intended as general examples.
|Size||Length||Width||Typical Breed Examples|
|1||2.5"||8.5"||Bichon, Maltese, Mini Dachsund, Toy Poodle, Yorkie|
|2||2.5"||10.5"||Bedlington Terrier, Border Terrier, Mini Poodle, Mini Schnauzer, Westie|
|3||3"||11"||Beagle, Border Collie, Cocker Spaniel, Corgi, Standard Poodle, Standard Schnauzer, Welsh Terrier|

When first introducing the Baskerville Ultra, place food in your hand and allow the dog to eat through the muzzle to encourage him to voluntarily put his nose into the muzzle. Continue to do this until he is happy, at which point you can then secure the back strap, which should be sufficiently tight to prevent the dog from removing it.
