Building Verbals for Agility - 4-Week Online Course, Premier Registration

First Day of Course: June 2, 2021

Course Length: 4 weeks (a new lesson is released every Wednesday)

Enrollment Limit: 30 Premier students

Class has started, but it's not too late to join in! You will be able to see all of the lessons regardless of when you enroll.

Verbals cues are becoming one of the most necessary skills on today's agility courses. Verbal cues are extremely important to help dogs discriminate between obstacles as well as differentiate what performance you want on a particular obstacle, regardless of where the handler is positioned or what the handler is doing. For example, Jordan has five different verbals for jumps to tell her dog exactly what she wants: jump in collection (tik, tik, tik), take the backside (push, push, push), jump in extension (hup), turn for a tight rear cross (turn), and threadle (look, look, look). The dog understands just the verbals, without any motion.

It doesn't matter if you are the fastest handler or the slowest, your ability to communicate with your dog can be greatly enhanced with solid verbal understanding and skills. We can build your dog's verbal understanding so they ALWAYS understand you, wherever you are!

This course will walk you through how to teach your dog to truly understand and be able to differentiate between verbal cues. It will help you and your dog master all the skills needed to have consistent verbal understanding in any situation.

Jordan is one of the most talented dog trainers and agility handlers in the United States today, and has become a contender on the world agility stage in a very short time. Jordan’s dedication to building and maintaining a strong foundation for her dogs has been a huge contributor to her success in agility.

Jordan has quickly made a name for herself in the world of agility by winning her way onto the 2019 European Open Team USA with her Border Collie Kirbee by winning Round 1 of the AKC World Team Tryouts by 1.6 seconds. She won her way onto the EO Team USA again in 2020 by winning Round 2 at Tryouts! Kirbee and Jordan were also chosen as a wildcard competitor for the 2020 World Agility Open in the Netherlands. Jordan also is the 2019 UKI Speedatstakes National Champion and 2019 UKI Games National Champion, winning both finals. Jordan also represented the USA in Italy at the IFCS World Championships in 2018.

Jordan is a highly skilled competitor and handler and is well known for her dogs' strong foundation and extremely well-trained skills and commitment. Jordan is admired for her smooth handling and her enthusiastic, engaging, and creative coaching. Jordan is known for her online threadle class as well as her online tricks and running contacts classes. Jordan is committed to bringing out the best in each of her students. She wants to push them to be the best that they can be and achieving their goals with them.

Jordan has worked with some of the best agility trainers and competitors in the world. Her classes are inspired by international competitors Silvia Trkman, Justine Davenport, Jessica Patterson, Desiree Snellman, and Tammy Moody. Learning from all of these amazing competitors has given Jordan a very good eye for the sport of agility. She strives to continue to learn more about handling and offering the best she can to her students in an online setting as well as in person classes and seminars.

"Jordan is the best instructor ever! She has such a great dog friendly way of training. And she's great with us humans as well. I am soo much in this class. Great principles like shaping, and how to use treats, toys, verbal markers and movement to move the dog along. I will definitely do Jordan's next course with Clean Run."  —Emily Dalton
