Posture is not the same as structure. Posture refers to the way a dog holds their body when they are moving and when they are not moving (such as sitting or standing). It's essentially how the body aligns with gravity and how the muscles support the bones. Good posture involves maintaining a natural alignment of the spine and other body parts, and it matters as much for dogs as it does for us. If the dog's posture and alignment are not correct during targeted strength training, for example, you won't be recruiting the right muscles. Postural inconsistencies can be a sign that your dog needs to be seen by a vet, so understanding how to evaluate your dog's posture is important.
