This course covers the steps and exercises that Rachel uses to teach in-motion threadles. It is possible to handle these types of challenges with a "false turn" or "forced front cross," but in both cases, the handler's forward motion is interrupted as they rotate toward the dog. Rachel's verbal threadle cue, "with me," tells the dog to take the jump from the handler's side and allows the handler to continue their forward motion, so they are able to get to critical points on the course.
This same cue can be used as part of a lead-out. For example, if the course requires the dog to take a jump from the opposite side than the approach side, and the handler must be positioned much farther away from the jump than they would be for a forced front cross or a push to the backside.
You can start this self-study course whenever you like. It includes eight exercises that you can complete at your own pace. There are no fixed deadlines or due dates.
Note: Rachel teaches the verbal cue with her position ahead of the dog and in motion. But once taught, the dog responds to the verbal threadle cue as a "jump" cue and the handler can be anywhere (behind or ahead) and also use the cue during a lead-out.
What is included with your purchase?

- Downloadable content for off-line access when you're out training
- No expiring content—you can go back any time to read and watch lessons. There is no time limit.
This cue can be taught to dogs as young as 5 or 6 months, as long as the dog has a sit-stay and understands how to run between jump wings or jump a very low jump.
Equipment & space needed
The initial training is done on one jump, with a second jump added as a 180 configuration. For most of the exercises, you will need no more than 3 jumps.
You can train this cue with a minimal amount of space. Towards the end of the course you will need more space in order to increase speed and distance between jumps.
