This course is designed to transform your dog into a calm, confident partner who stays mentally connected with you and emotionally regulated when training becomes challenging. Rather than simply teaching your dog to "focus," you will learn science-backed strategies to develop engagement that holds up under increasing levels of pressure, arousal, distractions, and environmental changes. The course is appropriate for sport dogs, young dogs beginning training, and experienced competition dogs who need stronger engagement and emotional regulation.

Each week you'll get clear lessons that include step-by-step videos and hands-on exercises. During the course, there will also be three live Zoom sessions that include presentation slides, discussion, Q&A, and training demonstrations where appropriate. These sessions will be recorded and made available on demand for those who cannot attend. You'll learn to recognize why engagement breaks down and how to identify your dog's individual engagement profile, systematically build emotional regulation, and develop reinforcement strategies that create confident and connected performance.

Whether your dog struggles with environmental distractions, excessive arousal, reinforcement obsession, or maintaining connection during training, by course end you will have a for building reliable engagement that transfers into real-world performance.

Note: This class is intended for one dog/handler team. If you also wish to post videos of a different dog, you must purchase another registration for the other dog(s).

Prerequisites

Dogs should be comfortable working for food and/or toy reinforcement and have basic marker training skills.

No previous agility experience is required, although many examples will be presented in an agility context.

Equipment and space needed

• Flat collar or harness
• Standard leash
• High-value food rewards

• Raised bed/station like a Cato Board (or similar platform)
• Cones
• Training mat (optional)
• Wing or Wingless Jump
• Notebook or training journal (recommended)

Most exercises can be completed in a relatively small area, approximately 15' x 20'. As the course progresses, students will benefit from having access to a larger training area, yard, or agility field for some exercises, but the majority of the foundation work can be accomplished in a modest training space.

How do I access my Learning Center purchase?

After you complete your purchase using your credit card or PayPal, you will receive 2 email confirmations: the first is a receipt acknowledging that your order has been received and the second email contains the link for your Clean Run Learning Center program. Click on the link in the email to complete enrollment. If you already have a Learning Center account, then you will go directly to your educational program. If you do not, then you will enter your email address and a password to use for this Learning Center program and any future ones your purchase. Please be aware that this is a separate account you are establishing on https://cleanrunonline.com/home and it is not the same as your Clean Run website account (although you can use the same email and password for both accounts). 

If you have a Clean Run website account, then you can also access your program at anytime by signing in at cleanrun.com and selecting Classes/Webinars from the My Account menu. 

Refund Policy

We offer a 90% refund for the class if you request a cancellation at least 5 days before the class begins. There are no refunds once the course has started.
