Elevate your dog's searching ability and precision with this focused skills course. Designed for teams that are already proficient in finding the target odor, this course systematically addresses four common challenges faced in competitive nose work:
- Sourcing: Enhancing your dog's ability to precisely locate the odor's origin, reducing handler guesswork.
- Elevation: Building confidence and proficiency in alerting to hides placed high or low.
- Thresholds: Training for having your dog engaged in searching from the beginning of the search.
- Multiple Hides: Developing the necessary skills for finding more than one hide in a search area, including converging odor and moving on from already found hides.
Over the duration of this course, you and your dog will isolate and practice the components of each skill through targeted exercises.
You will receive personalized feedback on homework assignments to assess your dog's understanding and progress their learning. Crucially, feedback will also include an assessment of your hide setting skills to ensure you are creating optimal training scenarios to support your dog's success. This is the course you need to sharpen your team's technique and advance your competition level.
