I like this toy because it is quiet when played with. Depending on the size and shape of the treats, you can vary the difficulty. I add small, regular shaped treats that fall out easily and some larger, irregular treats so that my dog comes to me for help to get the last ones out. I believe that this toy would easily be chewed up if left alone with a determined chewer.
