Mat work has been used for running contact training for a long time. Now, trainers around the world have found it just as useful to help dogs that struggle with finding the correct takeoff spot for jumping. The mat provides a clear visual target for the dog so that he learns body awareness and how to adjust his stride for takeoff. The textured surface provides feedback for the dog, telling them their feet are in the correct place, as well as grip to prevent slipping. 

Jump Takeoff Mats can be useful for helping fix common jumping issues like early take-offs, awkward turns, jumping too close or too far from the bar, and rushing the approach.
