My dog has laryngeal paralysis, which restricts his ability to cool through panting, and he’s an Aussie w/ hair. I bought this Cooler Dog cooling mat, the large Cooler Dog ice vest-harness 18 mos ago plus refill ice packs. Both have been life savers for us. The mat has padding and insulation around ice pack. We keep the ice packs folded in freezer during warmer months so they’re ready to use. These larpar dogs easily overheat at even mild (72+) temps, and the more they pant against the resistance in their airways, the more the trachealand vocal folds are prone to swelling, further increasing the work of breathing.
